HOW IT'S PLAYED |
|
| What You Do: | There are 4 rounds of the NBA Playoffs: 1.) Round 1 (8 matchups) 2.) Conference Semi-Finals (4 matchups) 3.) Conference Finals (2 matchup) 4.) NBA Final (1 matchup) For each series of the NBA playoffs and prior to each round, you will choose who you think will win each of the 15 playoff series that comprise the NBA playoffs. Each correct selection earns you points based on the points distribution chart in the next two sections. Bonus Points are also awarded for each correct selection. Any incorrect selection scores zero points See "Points Distribution Section" below for how much the point values are for each round |
| Points Distribution: | Each round is assigned a different point value awarded for each correct selection made. Below is the breakdown of each round ROUND 1: 5 points for each correct selection in this round CONFERENCE SEMIFINALS: 10 points for each correct selection in this round CONFERENCE FINALS: 15 points for each correct selection in this round: NBA FINALS: 20 points for choosing the NBA champion correctly NOTE: Maximum number of points you can earn in the entire pool is 130 points |
| Bonus Points: | There are 16 team eligible for the postseason. Each team will be ranked 1 through 8 in their respective conference. Each entry that selects a team to advance will receive the bonus points equal to that teams seed number if that team wins the series. EXAMPLE: #8 seed Charlotte defeats #1 seed Miami. If you chose Charlotte to win this series, you are awarded 8 bonus points for this series. (8+5=13) Each series in this pool will follow the same format for awarding bonus points. If in the NBA Finals, the 2 teams are ranked the same, no bonus points will be awarded for this round. |
| Winners: | The entry that accumulates the most points after the NBA champion is crowned will be declared the winner. Tiebreaker: Before the NBA Finals start, when making your selections, you will need to choose the total number of points scored in the final NBA Finals game. The entry that is closest, high or low, wins the tiebreaker and is declared the winner If there is still a tie after the tiebreaker, the payout will be split among those entries still tied. |
